A wonderful evening at the The Royal Society of Arts with Helena Norberg-Hodge
What a privilege to welcome to the Royal Society of Arts in London for the latest Memnosyne UK Chapter RSA Talk.
The evening was introduced by David Solomons, Chairman of the Memnosyne UK Chapter, who welcomed Helena and our guests before an inspiring evening of film, conversation and connection.
Helena shared insights from more than 50 years of witnessing profound social, economic and cultural change through her work around the world, beginning with her pioneering experiences in Ladakh and developing into a lifetime devoted to strengthening local economies, communities and our connection with the natural world
We were also delighted to screen Helena and Local Futures’ powerful new 18-minute film, The Economics of Eating, which explores the hidden economics of our global food system and asks us to consider how a shift towards local food systems could support people, communities and the planet
It was a fascinating and timely conversation about localisation, community, food, wellbeing and the importance of bringing our economies closer to home.
A huge thank you to Helena, David Solomons, everyone at Local Futures, the RSA, and all those who joined us and contributed to such a special evening.
